Hiring Process

Applying for a certified or support staff position with the District:

Complete the district application for the position in which you are interested.
Submit a current resume (required for certified positions).
Upon completion, applications will be reviewed. Based on district needs, necessary interviews will be scheduled. Selected candidates will be contacted via email, phone, or Zoom for interviews as vacancies occur.
Applicants interested in certified positions must possess at minimum a bachelor’s degree and must hold or be eligible for a valid Missouri teaching certificate.

SECONDARY VOCAL MUSIC TEACHER

Morgan County R-II Middle School & High School in Versailles, Missouri, is seeking a qualified applicant for a full-time Secondary Vocal Music Teacher to fill an immediate opening.

We are looking for a passionate and collaborative music educator who is committed to student success and excited about the opportunity to lead and grow a strong secondary vocal music program. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, structured, and engaging environment where students develop their musical skills, confidence, leadership abilities, and appreciation for the performing arts.

Position Overview
The Secondary Vocal Music Teacher will teach grades 6–12 and lead a comprehensive choral music program that promotes musical excellence, student leadership, creativity, and artistic growth. The teacher will provide standards-based instruction in vocal music and music literacy, prepare students and ensembles for performances, and oversee the day-to-day operations of the vocal music program.

Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver standards-aligned vocal and choral music instruction to students in grades 6–12
- Select appropriate repertoire and direct rehearsals, concerts, and performances
- Develop students' vocal technique, music literacy, performance skills, and musical understanding
- Assess student growth and maintain accurate instructional and program records
- Establish a positive, structured, and engaging rehearsal environment
- Encourage student leadership, participation, and ownership within the vocal music program
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and the school community to support student success
- Manage program resources, communication, scheduling, and advocacy

INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT:

CUSTODIAL/MAINTENANCE:

SUBSTITUTE CUSTODIANS:

The Morgan County R-II School District in Versailles, Missouri is now hiring Substitute Custodians.

Base pay is $15.50.

Assist as needed with maintaining a clean, safe, and secure environment for students, staff, and community members. Performing routine cleaning, light maintenance, and security duties during day or evening hours when available to substitute.

Essential Duties of Custodians:
- Clean classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and vacuum floors; empty trash and recycling
- Sanitize restrooms, wipe desks and high-touch surfaces, restock supplies
- Set up/tear down rooms for events and meetings
- Lock and secure buildings at the end of shift (if evening shift)
- Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or vandalism
- Perform minor repairs and operate custodial equipment safely
- Assist with snow removal or weather-related duties as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand and walk for extended periods; frequent bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, and climbing.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS:

The district is always looking for qualified candidates to substitute for our current certified teaching staff. If you are interested in substituting, you must first complete a Support Teaching Application and turn it in to Danielle Johnson, Secretary to the Superintendent of Schools, at the Central Administrative Offices.

TRANSPORTATION POSITIONS:
BUS MECHANIC:

The Morgan County R-II School District is now accepting applications for School Bus Mechanic.

Contract: 12-month, Hourly Position

This position will be responsible for:
- Maintenance and repair of all district vehicles
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent)
- Experience with diesel motor repair/maintenance is required
- Missouri Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsement is required or must be willing to obtain
- Must pass school bus physical and drug testing as required
Salary depends on experience. Full benefits including, paid leave, vacation, retirement and health insurance are available.
